Tailor Made Travel: Tibet
The mere mention of the word Tibet conjures up images of a mysterious
and forbidden land rendered inaccessible from the south by the Himalayas and harbouring a
mystic and idiosyncratic form of Buddhism tinctured with the ritual and belief in the
ancient Bon religion.
The fate of Tibet is one of the great tragedies of twentieth century
history and as a consequence of its invasion, much of the rich culture built up over the
centuries by the Tibetans has been irretrievably destroyed. Politics aside, a visit to the
country on the roof of the world offers a unique cultural experience and provides a
fascinating addition to any tour of Nepal or China.
Our tours commence from and return to Kathmandu but can also be
arranged from China or Pakistan.
We will soon advertise a series of Buddhist tours, the first
in Bihar is called In the footsteps of the Buddha. The second, in Northern
India, focuses on The spread of Buddhism. The third, Later incarnations
of Buddhism will concentrate on Tibet |
